Emma Chambers

Welcome to my website, Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy my prints.

In 1983, I studied Fashion Textiles at Brighton, and after graduating, I worked as a freelance textile designer until 1997. My work was mostly floral and sold globally.

In 1997 I took time off to raise a family.

Since 2007 I have been focusing on Landscapes. I am drawn to those briefest of moments when the landscape around me is transformed: the rare sprinkling of snow; first light over a frozen ground, clouds racing across fields; long shadows cast in the woods, the sun emerging to light up the sea, a sky turned pink with a glorious sunset. The scenes I choose are those I have come to know well, from endless walks in Richmond Park, and holidays in Cornwall and Devon.

Using my Photographs and sketches as reference, I try to recreate these images using various screen printing methods. Most of my prints are created by painting directly onto the screen and then using a squeegee to push the paint through onto paper. This gives the prints a painterly quality, with marks and textures that are unique to this style of printing. no two prints are ever the same.

I also take on commissions and can transform a photo of a favourite view, or a well  loved beach into a picture.

Please contact me if you would like to know more or are interested in any of my work.
